NEGATIVITETEN är en performativ installation baserad på poeten Johan Jönsons bok ProponeisiS. Med utgångspunkt i teater som textens arkitektur oscillerar verket i ett transmedialt fält mellan autonomt objekt och performativ rumstid. En poetisk apparatus, likt Aniaras Miman samtidigt maskin och kollektivt minne, där subjektivitet kontinuerligt produceras i mötet mellan singulär och kollektiv erfarenhet.
Johan Jönsons text är ett lyriskt ur-epos; en polyfon sångcykel, vars kombination av poetisk sensibilitet, klassperspektiv, referentiell förankring och ursinne ger materialet en unik resonans och potential. Poesins kärna är en lika paradoxal som vital tro på det negativa som möjlighet till ett hängivet och aktivt görande, där det generösa bejakandet av depressionens perspektiv och det kompromisslösa förnekandet av falskt hopp skapar en väg, inte ut ur men in och igenom den stasis, stumhet och brist på utsida och framtid som präglar vår samtid.
En central tankefigur är vår tids osynliggörandet av arbete, där det arbetande livet utgör den urbana medelklassens abjekt, som samtidigt rymmer en slags arbetsamhetens emancipatoriska princip. Den påtagliga och utdragna arbetsinsats som texten innebär och förutsätter av såväl författare och mottagare skapar över tid en egen sfär, bortom transaktionslogikens hierarkiska rangordning, där vårt gemensamt investerade engagemang erbjuder ett rum i vilket vi kan mötas på lika villkor.
Installationen är utformad som en cyklisk svit med en speltid på ca 4,5 timmar, och en kommer och går som en vill under öppettiderna.

NEGATIVITETEN is a performative installation based on the book ”ProponeisiS” by the Swedish poet Johan Jönson.
Taking departure from theatre as the architecture of the text, the piece oscillates in a transmedial field between autonomous object and performative time space. A poetic apparatus, simultaneously machine and collective memory, where subjectivity is continuously produced in the relation between singular and collective life experience.
Johan Jönson’s text is lyrical epos; a polyphonic song cycle, in which a combination of poetic sensibility, class perspective, referentiality and rage gives the material a unique resonance and potential. The core of the poetry is a both paradoxical and vital faith in negativity as possibility for a devoted and active making, where the generous affirmation of the depression’s perspective and the uncompromising rejection of false hope creates a path, not out of but into and through the stasis, muteness and lack of exteriority and future that characterizes our time.
A central figure of thought is the contemporary invisibilization of labor, where working life is rendered the abject of urban middle class, that also harbors an emancipatory principle of diligence. The tangible and extensive effort of work that the text means and conditions of writer as well as receiver over time produces an autonomous sphere, beyond the hierarchic ranking of transactional logics, where our commonly invested engagement offers a space in which we can meet on equal terms.
The installation is designed as a cyclical suite with a playing time of about 4.5 hours, and you come and go as you please during opening hours.
